I was looking at a 460 block, casting # is D9TE-AB. The seller claims it is an SVO block. I was not able to get too much info regarding this casting number but best I could tell it's an early 90's regular 460 block. Does anyone know of a resource for checking SVO block numbers?
I'm waiting to hear back about the casting date. I did a search on the web for the D9TE-AB code and found it being used in a vast number of rebuilds so I'm not guessing it to be an SVO as the seller is claiming.
The D9TE blocks are truck blocks from 1979 and up in pick-ups and vans. They were even used for 370 and 429 medium trucks into the mid 90's and maybe later.
I as well know the 460 did not start life as a truck engine.
But the D9TE block casting was for the external balanced engine used in the 79 up 460 trucks and vans. And greenhighboy threw in a couple more truck applications.
I will also add, there appears to not be a lick of difference between the V Lincoln casting and this one. I have one of each for comparison.

The only difference between the them that I have found is the T castings have longer cylinders.

A SVO Block will have a M-6010A460 Part number and it will have 4 bolt mains on 2,3,4 main caps. You'll have no problem telling a factory stock block from a SVO block.
