I have a problem that I am hoping someone can help me with. I have a 2007 F-250, 6.0L truck. Yesterday I parked it in our office garage around 5:30 AM. I came out to my truck around noon to find a puddle of what I thought was anti freeze, greenish in color and slick.
It was still dripping down my oil pan but I had good clothes on so didn't get under to look.
I decided to leave and take it home to take a closer look. I stopped at auto parts to grab some anti freeze and went to add some but fluid level was good. I get home, check all fluid levels, checked to make sure water was not in oil, crawled all over engine and could not find evidence of a leak. I take it to the shop and they found nothing.
Take it home and it sat for a good 6 hours and still no leaking. Got up this morning and found another puddle under truck. Was still dark so couldn't do anything. I get no codes, all fluid levels are good, it is not running hot so I am at a lost. Has anyone experienced this. Any help would be appreciated.
Which side of the truck is the puddle on? What part of the engine(frame etc. is over the puddle?
This time of year, you will find that the spring tension clamps on the radiator and heater hoses have become weak. When it gets cooler, the spring will not compress enough to keep it from leaking. The fluids are still under pressure, so when the hoses and inlets cool, coolant is pushed out from around these clamps.
Eventually, I had to replace all of my radiator hose (spring) clamps with stainless screw clamps to keep this from happening. It took years for the clamps to leak. I guess the combination of older hoses and weaker clamps are a combination for leaks like this.
Also, check the weep hole on your water pump to see if there is antifreeze in it or if it wet. That's another possibility.
Thanks for your reply, the leak drips down both sides of the oil pan and the puddle is directly beneath the oil pan. I am at the office now, no leaks and truck has been sitting for 3 1/2 hours, will check again at lunch and get back with you.
Just went and checked it, been sitting for almost 5 hours and now have a small puddle and dripping small drops. Drops are sitting where the transmission bolts up behind the oil pan.

Get up on top of the engine and take flashlight and look in the intake valley and see if you see any coolant in there. If so, could be coming from heater hose on passenger side of truck. If not, take the truck to a shop that can pressure test the coolant system and do a compression test on the engine. You could have a blown head gasket. That is why it is intermittent.
Also, there is a small Orange or Blue hose on the EGR cooler that sometimes leaks. Orange is the original colored hose, and Blue is the updated one. Not sure which color your truck has on it. I'd forgotten all about this issue when posting earlier. Start there first.
If it's orange it most likely the leak. Also you should not be having green
coolant. The OLNY reason it can be green and be sort of ok is if the Ford
supplement was added to the gold coolant. Other wise you asking for BIG
problems with the green. Come over here and tell what is going on and you

If you have normal green it is missing some key ingredients and has some
that that will cause you problems like plugged up oil cooler.

I agree Texas4x4, the 6.0 section would be a lot more help. It has been a couple of years since I messed with a 6.0. The things I pointed out are the things I saw with our med units.
Yahiko, funny you should say that about the 'green'. I was thinking the same thing, although I went back and read it and it said 'greenish'. Two of our 6.0s that were '07s had a weird colored coolant from the factory, it wasn't yellow and it wasn't green either. The dealership told us it was an additive that Ford put in the trucks late in their production. It was a very odd color though.
