Took four of us about three hours to get it on. Took me another two or three to tighten all the bolts down. I quit counting bolts when I reached 40. There is only one hole left without a bolt and it's not getting one while I'm alive. The passenger side fender extension piece that bolts onto the front end of the running board doesn't reach the running board. Not even close. The rest are good to go. These things have to have to most solid front ends of any vehicle ever made. Now to start running wires.

Congrats on the progress Mike. I know about that one bolt that just wont fit, mine is on the gravel pan. One of these days Ill loosen everthing up and tighten it up in the proper order, I think somebody posted it a while back, Ill have to research it. Anyway your truck is coming along nicely and looks good. Keep up the good work.
Brian,
I'll get you a picture of the what the bed looked like in the morning.
Panelman,
I almost broke my arm getting the rear running board arm on the passenger side to line up. That one bolt on that little piece of sheet metal will just remain a mystery for my great grandkids. When my friend Mark and I worked at fixing all the rusted out body parts we tried to make them as straight as possible. Apparently they weren't real straigh before we disassemble the truck. It's still been a fun experience, luckily without major injury. So far. I'm scared to death to visit my doctor after this truck runs. I think I really tore something up in my left shoulder carrying the doors around.

Brings back memories of when I was there... and trust me, I'm glad I’ve passed that stage!
Sometimes, for giggles, I say to myself... I'm going to tear it down again to see if I can make things better/straighter, then my wife looks at me and promises me she won't cook for me if I do so.
Mike , your boot is on the way .It is for a '51 so I assume you have a '51 fresh air tube elbow w/ the 4" dia. adapter ring . If not you have a '52 fresh air tube elbow w/ the 1" extended flange and you will be trading it for a '52 boot . Truck looks great .Been at your stage twice . Later , Denny
Denny, yes my heater is a 51'. I'll let you know when it gets here. Just put in the fresh air tube before leaving for work.
Thanks for the good words everybody. It does get frustrating at times.
