6.7.27 Jan. 6, 2013 – Firmware 1023, DPF delete modified to High Sulfur text, Log files added, Auto detect firmware update added, SD card communications updated, Stock files removed from basic download to increase update speeds, Power level names changed – Stock, Tow, Street, Performance
WTF does this mean??
If you update your mini you can't use it for DPF off anyomre???
I have all the black maxx files but went to update my spare mini SD card and saw this.

There's still a loophole, but it got A LOT tighter and I'm guessing will see A LOT more scrutiny. The EPA will be watching, and I'm guessing H&S is on a very short leash with a lot to lose. It'll be very interesting to see how many of these high sulfur tunes are authorized.
It'll be interesting to see how this works in Canada, I don't think it's so much legal or illegal as it is a "grey area".

I'm paying close attention to this street tuner information because I didn't delete my truck and tune it for one reason...it isn't the reasoning that many will think either.
My reservations started as a warranty issue, but that was resolved by discussing with the Service Manager at my dealership. If the tuner caused the issue, the warranty was not going to cover the repair. If the tuner didn't cause the issue, they would cover the repair. It's fair.
I wasn't looking for fuel savings or the hassle of DEF. I don't pay for fuel and I don't think my truck has excessive regens. In fact...I just drive my truck. If the cleaning exhaust filter comes on while I am almost home, too fricken bad. I've got crap to do and I don't care. Catch ya next time. Never had an issue...and I've had my truck almost a year.
What stopped me dead in my tracks was the sound of a deleted truck. Not that it was bad at all. I loved the one I heard and so would my wife. I heard a tuned 6.7 with a muffler and as much as I liked hearing it, I couldn't do it. I still drive my truck for work and my customers are already distracted by my truck. I didn't need to draw more attention to it. My customers would find the truck too loud and "toy" like. Not as a truck that was actually serving a purpose (which it does). That would cost me sales. I like my sales and the commissions they generate more than a tuned truck.
So I said screw it and went with an intake and larger DPF back pipe and got a slight tone change and can hear the turbo whistle now. Slight chubby, but easily hidden. A street tuner that allows the DPF and keeps the truck quiet may be exactly the compromise that I would go for. I know Andrew is shaking his head right now, but I know he gets this. The greater good is me making money. I have no desire to drive something else as my daily driver...none.
So I'm keeping an eye on this street tuner and what it is doing. I know it won't earn me any coolness points from the deleted crowd, but that's ok.

Savage, you could try a high flow resonator....
Aeroturbine Resonated 5.0" In x 5.0" Out Muffler 5050XL
I had the same issue with my 6.0 that was straight piped. It sounds awesome....till your trying drive to your tree stand at 4:30 in the morning.
