At what point in this sequence did you try the other IDM? I am wondering if you have two issues that were coinciding and masking eachother. I was thinking you said that either the IPR or the ICP was replaced and helped with part of the problem. I'm wondering if that was before or after the IDM was swapped. You might try installing the IDM (bolting it to the fender) and see if that makes a difference. If the ground in the harness is so-so having it grounded to the fender could help.
When I changed the IPR, I thought it helped with the idle issue, but it didn't. I thought the same thing about two separate issues at first, but I don't know. I think it's just one issue, just getting worse, but just like everything with this so far, that is just a guess LOL!
What can cause the eye burning smoke and smell at start up?
I'm pretty sure my injectors are bad and that's what's causing my eye burning smoke at startup. We shall see once I get Mikes injectors if it clears it up. I've got all new GP's, harness, VCG, GPR etc...
Its definitely unburned fuel . I had that when my IPR was sticky & ready to crap out (poor atomization of the fuel). I'm still pondering the IPR DC% at 19 when cold ...What I get out of this is the the ICP sensor is reporting more ICP than is needed ,but the IPR is still being commanded to stay closed longer . Seems like a mis communication between The PCM & the ICP sensor .Or its not using input from the TPS & EOT sensor at cold idle
I probably should have done this 20 pages ago, but I just pulled my IDM out of the truck and gave it the shake test, and it's got a lot of water in it. So now I'm back to thinking this is two separate issues. I put the IDM from my parts truck in and started the truck. It doesn't seem to smoke as bad and it revs a lot smoother, but it has cooled off a lot since I've been home. It does still idle a little rough and surges. I just came in and ate dinner, now I'm going out to take the truck for a drive. I'll be back on here in a little while.
Still has the same idle problem, but I'm hoping the water in the IDM was the cause of the one bank shutting down. I put the PCM from Tyler's first truck in it, it did romp at start up, but after that, same rough idle. Maybe I should pull the injectors on the pass. side, check/replace the o-rings and order an ICP sensor. That should just about cover everything except bad injectors and HPOP.
Hopefully that cured the shutting down. The romp at startup is one thing, the thing dying out on you is another thing entirely... Let me know if you want to try a different ICP. I still have that one we talked about and I'd be more than happy to send it to you if you wanted to try it to see if it would cure the problem. I'll be fair with you too if you want to keep it.

Thanks guys! Nate, did you get a chance to test the one you have? You did say you thought it was used didn't you?
Darin, let's see what Nate says, I may just buy his if it's good. I really appreciate the offer though. You know I'd do the same for you guys.
