2011 6.7 egr issues

Been to the dealer three times for the the same problem, EGR. Starting to get worried only a few thousand miles away from the 36,000 mark. Anybody else having the same issues?

No, but the EGR is covered under the power train warranty to my knowledge. That's 100k.

EGR is also an emissions device so it should also be covered that way. How do you drive the truck? Could that be part of the issues?

I just had a CEL a month ago and it was for a EGR valve. Dealer replaced it and all the 'o' rings and a tube. That was just shy of 30k miles.

Am I missing something here? I'm 56 years old and I drive fairly conservatively. I don't hammer it.

Egr's can carbon/soot up when driven in this fashion around town unloaded. It has been a problem area for several OEM's in my observation. The 6.7's egr valves do seem to be holding up better than most though.

Exactly. Not the problem with the soot build up as in previous generations but too much city driving very little throttle applications could be a problem here. Maybe not.

This is interesting. I haven't seen or heard much on the EGR on the 6.7. It was a major pain and maintenance item on the 6.0.

My CEL for the EGR came on after driving over 200 miles at 60mph while towing a 30' toy hauler. No really baby-ing it.

The way I hear it if you want a Tuner you might want to buy one soon.

My truck was just in for the 12th time...can anyone say 6.0 deja vu....It needs an EGR cooler due to supposed lack of flow...I asked if it could be a sensor and was told nope...needs an EGR cooler. The part is in but the tech is out sick...

It also still has the "failure to learn" code that keep pooping up...I guess the truck has found it's way back to Ford's roots...failure to learn...

Regards

Note to everyone......................Do not be a test monkey. I waited a year and a half, hopefully they worked out a lot of bugs. These things are way to complicated though..... To bad it is so hard to make new old vehicles. Been there , done that...............$60,000 Gran Sports, $5,000 new.............What was I smokin?

Wow, Rickatic, Sorry to hear that.
I wonder how many of your repeat visits could possibly to attributed to tearing down and reassembly your truck went thru?

Same thoughts I been thinking. Stuff loose. Ground wires etc.list could go on and on.

Rick I am acually looking foward to the day that truck can leave your lawn and never return. I feel for ya man.
