I had an issue when I first bought the truck the local dealer had the truck three time and were unable to fix the problem. Ford sent in a field rep and after two attempts the issue was solved. They would not say what they did to repair. All I was told is that he took my truck to a a secluded area in the shop with a laptop and wala it was repaired. However 3 weeks after that it is no longer in use.
I do not think the EGR cooler failure is related to the previous issues. The truck runs fine. The failure to learn code comes and goes. It has actually went away two times on my way to the dealer. It is definitely the EGR code that keeps the light lit.
The new GM twins and the 2013 Ram will be here in the spring...Deb will be getting a new vehicle to replace her F150...this will make 2 more lost sales for Ford because neither vehicle will carry that name...this has cost Ford a ton of money
I have a 2011 F 250 Super Duty 6.7 liter diesel with 176000 miles on it and now after washing mud off of the truck the service engine light came on and the code read was AGR recirculation cooler EGR valve any tips

Go run it hard and hot see if that clears the cooler

Question for ya. Not on the site that much only for info as my kids keep me crazy. Sitting at the dealer with my 2011 looking like EGR cooler again. This would be my third. I was hoping to find more posts on this topic and that I want out on an island of my own. Any thoughts?
How much do you let it idle?
Biggest cause for plugged EGR coolers.
I would have to check the meter. Probably more than I should. It ended up being an EGT sensor that for is sending out a recall for on March 21st. The dealer provided me with the letter from ford. There are 4 of them and they are extending Kentucky made trucks from 2011 to 2015 warranty on these 4 sensors till 120,000 miles. I can get you a copy of the letter if you want.
I was just glad it wasn't the cooler. I read that you can remove and flush it with soap and water? Do you know much about this?

By the way still have my Voltage you?
Easy fix. I thought the warranty extension was for 80k though...
I haven't cleaned a 6.7 EGR cooler yet, but have had good luck with other makes cleaning them with the parts washer (mineral spirits).
I do still have my Voltage, but it's up for sale. Have a Grand Design 350M on order, the women folk like the kitchen and bathroom storage better, I wanted the additional loft over the garage.
