99 Expedition 5.4 electrical problem. Help!

Here's what happening. Turn on the truck, runs fine. While in park windows, wipers and lights work fine. Once I put in in drive, wipers won't work, windows won't go down and the interior lights turn on. I drive for about a minute, the wipers work, the windows work and the interior lights turn off. When I come to a complete stop, the interior lights turn on and when I drive off again they turn off. The battery indicator light turns on on the dash, the door ajar light turns on although all doors are closed properly and the digital odometer does not aluminate. However, the odometer does aluminate after driving for a while. The air only blows cold air, not AC. No heat ever. Where to start troubleshooting is the main question. Thanks

I don't have much experence with that model. But I'd recomend cleaning your fuse and rely boxes,(top and bottom) and inspect them while your in there. Based on you specific problem I'd look for the diagram showing relays or switches at the shifter and brake pedal. Also spray cleaner on the ECM and shake it up a bit since these cars rely so much on it. (shake it to see if it turns anything on or off)
I use a lot of dielectric grease when doing these thing to be sure no corrosion hits in the future.

I would start with testing the battery. Even then, batteries that have tested good turned out to be the source of many electrical gremlins when it comes to these vehicles.

I'm having to unplug the positive wire from the battery so not to drain it when parked. All fuses are fine. I'm lost here.

Does the rear wiper work? Very common battery drain is a bad rear wiper motor. Pull the fuse for that and see if the problem goes away.

Your gonna need a diagram. Have you taken your battery out to be tested yet?

Sounds like the classic GEM problem to me. Remove and clean the GEM and check the windshield for leaks.

Never remove the positive cable first!!

Always remove the negative cable first on a negative ground vehicle.

Yes it's true. The dealer has to download the programming from the original one, and then copy that programming into the new one.
