Your truck is looking sharp with those colors. I thought I was the only one that held onto a project truck that long. Check my 63 build started on it back in the 80s. I have a build with pics down in the projects forum. Some of the pics are scans fo 35mm pics taken in the day before digital cams were ever heard of.
Edit: no truck clubs on the www either. Not may 4wd around then but the 2wd versions were still seen all over the place.
I've just started looking for a '66 SW 4X4, built one out of '72 years ago, Mght have to do that again. Always have been intrigued by that combo. Not many bought new in OK, most opted for the long wheel base or F250.
The 66 4x4's are a rare bird by them self and the F100 4x4 SWB are even harder to find. Not sure of the actual number of them built. Good luck with the hunt.

True, one year only set up, many were suprised when Ford introduced the '66 F100 4X4, conventional wisdom would expect Ford to wait till '67. But that what makes this era so interesting. Here's a LB '66 for sale.1966 ford f100 4X4

1966 F100 4WD production figures from R. L. Polk & Co., that has kept production figures for the entire auto industry since the 1920's:
Cab & Chassis 145 / Flareside Pickup 839 / Styleside Pickup 4,493 / This is all that's available.
No breakdown is available as to bed type/length, Standard/Custom Cabs, engine sizes, trans types and etc as FoMoCo THREW AWAY all the records decades ago.
Thanks for the production info.
I got my first 66 F100 2wd back around 1980 and have had numerous ones since then. I have always had a sweet spot for the 4wds i live in central Ks and have only seen a handful of the 66 4wd pickups and the one i am working on now is the only SWB i have ever seen locally.
