I just called Doc and he is on his way home from visiting in London,Ky. He said when he gets home he will access everything and will let us know if he has very much damage, the epicenter was 2 miles from his home and neighbors said they really got a shaking. Give him a couple of hours but all he knows at this time is that all are OK, Garry

We felt it in the Mount Sterling area. It was just a temblor here.
I've talked to some friends in Middlesboro, KY that said there wasn't any damage there. They are a little to the Southwest of Doc.

We live with earthquakes daily in CA. and usually don't feel them as they are too small. The last 3 over 3.0 were last month, and I never felt any of them (too far away) All Earthquakes in California-Nevada Map Area
A level 4 is considered light, so hopefully nothing was damaged. The report for today's KY quake was a 4.3.

The magnitude scale is a 10-fold scale, so a 5.0 is 10 times more violent than a 4.0.

Dang man! I miss all the excitement. I was 100 miles away when it hit today. The epicenter was right here in Blackey. Cracked a few foundations here and there. But never fear--Truckstockland is clear!!! We have no obvious damage at all that I can see with a flashlight. My parents who live 10 miles away had some pictures fall off the wall and a couple little ceramic what-nots bounce around. Dad said he thought a plane had crashed somewhere nearby. But overall made for a good conversation and not much more. You guys out in California are probably laughing... I was visiting my family in L.A. once and slept through a 5.4.

Dad had a crew underground when it happened. They said they didn't feel a thing. People as far away as Lexington are saying they felt it.
