I have the 4 speed np435 and I want to install a t19 I found but was wondering if it will be a bolt in tranny or if I will have to change drive shaft lengths or bellhousings.
I did it to my '68. It was a straight bolt-in swap with one exception...the T19 output yoke is larger, requiring a larger U-joint. I simply took the two different size U-joints into my local NAPA store and got a Crossover U-joint, one with two different sizes on the same joint. They had it in stock, but I don't remember the part number. It may have been a 1310/1330 like the first one listed here:

Awesome that's what I wanted. Was it worth it are the gear ratios more enjoyable/usable.
It was for me. I didn't care about having the granny low first gear with the NP435 and the T19 I used was out of an '86 F350 diesel and didn't have it, so it gave me a true 4-speed with all four gears synchro'd so I've been happy enough with it. The original owner of my truck towed with it a lot and 3rd gear was really noisy so I wanted to repair it or replace the tranny anyway, and when the T19 fell into my lap it seemed like a logical choice.
