A while back I went trailer camping with a buddy, who also brought his trailer. We were in a fairly popular Forest Service campground which has centrally located water available, but nothing at the individual sites and no electricity. After setting up, he brings out this device which is a piece of 3"x3" steel tubing about 30" long with a stake welded to one end and a fake faucet and a dummy electrical box on the other end. He pounds it into the ground until the stake disappears and then hooks up his hose and cord to the dummy faucet/outlet. For the rest of the afternoon/evening people would stop as they walked by and stare for a minute. A few of them asked how it was that his site had hook-ups. " Just lucky, I guess" was his reply. The next day the ranger who patrols the campgrounds stopped by and thought it was pretty funny, but asked my friend very nicely if he'd mind taking it down so other campers would quit bugging him about why the other sites are all dry. I'm going to make one of these myself!
