OK, my 2002 FX4 ranger had a slight problem with the rear end
In theory, its a 31 spline 8.8 differential. Been looking around, looks like I can get a Ford Racing M-4204-F318C diff from summit racing for about $250. Looks like I'll need some bearings as well. Can anyone confirm this diff will work in my Ranger?
The truck is mostly street use, occasionally logging trail, mud-pit boat launch, and farm field stuff. I don't need a hi-perf differential. But I do like the limited slip in snow/ice.
The ring and pinion gears look to be in excellent condition, all things considered, as well as the ring for ABS, so I plan to reuse those items.
Any words of wisdom?
TIA

Thanks Lazy K. It's definetely this site that's blocking my picture and inserting the ***** into the address. I'm on several other IB forums and this comes up enough. It's blocking the ". e x e" because they think its a malicious executable.
Anyhow, I was just asking, in a round about way, if any differential made for the 8.8 would work, or if there were differences in the housing/diff's. I got my answers and ordered parts. So I will be rebuilding my axle this weekend.
