Ranger What the Diff?!
I just changed my diff fluid from my 05 Ranger 2x4 Edge 4.0 after 20,000 miles on it. Seems to have went sell, no leaking and in fact it feels slightly better. Anyways my question is about my diff. Its an open diff, when I bought the truck it said on the details it had 4.10 gears. I tried confirming that when I looked at the tag but it didn't say 4.10, instead it had V357ML55.884H25. Can anyone tell me what this means?

I looked on the atricle section and found the Ford Sticker Decoder. I looked at my sticker and it said R5-which is a 3.55 limited slip. ?!? I guess the dealer was wrong. And that means I should add friction modifier to my diff. I'm going to double check and jack up my wheels and spin them to make sure its a Limited Slip or Open diff.
