Anyone have any recommendations for buying ammo online or have any laying around you don't need ? Specifically looking for .45LC cowboy loads and .30-30. Might be looking for some .38 but need to verify what I have at home.
Looks like Midway USA and cheaperthandirt.com are about the same.
I just bought a s&w 1911 .45, shoots excellent. Was shooting 8rnd groups under 3in at 19yds from a rest. Need to find cheaper ammo then walmart though, 100 for $38 and i like to shoot lol.
You guys gotta hand load. You can pay for a progressive loader pretty quick at those prices.
If I shot a lot, and didn't hand load, I would look for a good source of reloads. Especially in the common calibers like 45ACP or LC, or 9mm stuff. No sense shooting up expensive factory ammo at the range.

Unfortunately I just don't have the space for it. When I do get a house with a garage, I will definitely start hand loading my own. For now, I am saving all of my .30-30 brass so when the time comes, I have a good supply.

I've bought from lucky gunner a couple times. www.luckygunner.com
They come in about the same as the two you mentioned, but from time to time they have some pretty good deals if you buy in quantity.
As much as I hate to say it, walmart has pretty good prices around here on 9mm, 40 & 45 ammo. 250 box of .45ACP FMJ is $95. It's routinely sold out.
