that's a awful long list.... for me personally, i don't like any part of L.A. City the San Fernando valley is not too bad, but i like to stick to Northern and along the 210 Fwy area of L.A. County when possible.
i get to work at a shakeys pizza tomorrow morning off Olympic and Fairfax. thankfully its on the roof so i can keep a birds eye view on the truck.
What are the good and bad areas around here? I see a lot of different names for suburbs, non of which have any form of connotation with me yet.
Bad areas = less expensive, good areas = more expensive. I know that's probably not much help, but it's generally true.
As far as Long Beach goes, it's kind of tough to dismiss or accept an area by name, just because some of them vary so much; there are some decent areas that are only a few blocks away from a less than desirable area, and there are crappy blocks/streets within what is otherwise a pretty good neighborhood. I lived in the Cal Heights area (on Olive near 36th - nice area) for 5 years and was burglarized twice, but in the 15 years we lived in N. Long Beach (an area most would consider questionable by name) we never had a problem. Anecdotal stuff for sure, but just illustrating my point.
All you can really do is go out and look at the places that you might be interested in. But if you can give a general area (like the nearest intersection) I'd be happy to give you a personal impression if I have one
Nah, just a gas grill. I use a pyrometer to adjust the flame where it will hold 325°. It ends up the equivalent of an oven, and I'm not sure the taste is any better/different either. But it offloads some of the work from the missus, and also frees up the oven for other tasty stuff.
Smells up the neighborhood real nice.
My new employer still gives turkeys to all the employees.
