Today I pulled my seats and carpet and soaked it down good with purple power. Man, I couldn't believe the dirt that came out of that carpet. I had it hanging over a fence and stood that I bet an hour with the power washer. Tomorrow I will see how clean it got.
What do you guys think about sound proofing the floor. It just blocks road noise, right. If it blocked any motor noise at all I would do it.
For sound deading one of the best cost/benifit is RAAMat. Also... if you fill the pillars with closed cell foam you can add significant deadening to the cab as it will absorb many of the echos.
As a cheaper solution you can use Peal n' Seal.... most places like home depot have it in their roofing section.... or so I have heard.
Thanks for the links Bill and Richard. My nephew dropped off a brand called Acoust that he had left over from a job. It sorta looks like that extruded buty rope in your link Richard. Also that's not a bad idea of the foam in the pillars. I really don't know him very well but he sure has come thru for me lately.

I tried peeln seal on the bottom of the engine cover on my tdi and it did two things...jack and crap...it is NOT thick enough.the sound mats sold commercialy are twice to three times thicker.i wish it had worked cause it is cheap.
since we are a lizard skin dealer at work that is gonna be my chioce when i pull my carpet to clean.quad mat is also a product that is great in hot rods.just my experience.
Yes, pretty much so, that purple power is pretty good stuff. I bet I spent an hour spraying it with the power washer and the dirt just poured out. Today washed out the whole inside with several buckets of dawn soapy water. Its about ten times cleaner now then the old mule so I can't see my wife saying no, can you? LOL If you does Bill I'll have you talk to her!

I rented a rug doctor, pulled the carpet and layed it out in my house on my hardwood floor. Use their stuff and it cleaned up to almost new. Worked great.
