RABS Troubleshooting Tip

After searching for help here and getting nothing but an offer for an appointment from the Ford garage, I rolled up my shirt sleeves and finally found my RABS problem. My Antilock Brake light was staying on all the time and the module refused to cough up any trouble codes. After swapping modules, sensors, checking wiring, and everything else, I read the fine print in the shop manual and gave my red BRAKE light a second look. It worked with the E-brake pedal as it should, but didn't come on when the ignition switch was turned to start like it was supposed to. It turns out that the ground wire had pulled out of the low fluid level sensor on the master cylinder. So if you have an ABS light stuck on and can't retrieve any codes, it may save you some time and money to have a look there first!
