Hello all,
I have a 2007 6.0 that has issues with starting when it is cold (i mean no start in 12+ hours so it returns to exterior temp) and at about 60 degrees it starts to have some issues. it was 64 the other day and it took 3 key cycles for the glowplugs and 3 tries of 5 second cranks before it loped violently into life for about 10 seconds and started idling normally, it had minimal smoke though. i cleaned the MAF sensor and airfilter this weekend because the injectors were down 4% on fuel or something according to the diagnostics. help?
here is a video of it starting today, it started easier then it did yestarday for no reason... fresh diesel in the tank:
Does the truck run rough when it first starts? Does this rough running get better and clear up as you drive more and the engine gets to operating temps? If so, I'd suspect an injector issue.
that is a very interesting point i will check that as soon as i have a chance, and @DP Tuners - it runs perfectly cold at any rpm up to 2500 rpm (i dont let it go higher then that until it reaches at least 180 engine core temp) so the only time it runs rough is when it starts for the first 10 seconds or so. ive been told it could be injection stiction and i should try revx, and from my main mechanic he said that i need to get my PCM reprogrammed from a ford dealer with the newest update
i was having extremely rough cold starts at around 50 degrees and added rev x into the oil about a week ago, the next day it was 25 degrees when i started it and it started up like i had it plugged in all night, honestly is amazing to me how much better my 6.0 runs and starts after adding rev x. i am 100% impressed with rev x
