Packaging Content - single piece of paper is the woeful instructions
Hardware
The issues/comments I had
- insructions were not well defined and an additional statment or exploded view of hardware sequencing would have gone a long way
- Drilling was required as stated as a possible option, and the 3/16" drill was not sufficient, this was due to that the posts inserted into the back of the frame house were not perpendicular to the frame base - they pointed slightly in - I did not notice this until it was too late and reamed out the holes a little more to get the piece to fit
- the other major issue was the two post on the right side (towards the back of the truck) - due to the design of the fill well with slopes in it very difficult to tighten the nut and it was impossible to fit the provided washers on the post studs - I needed to get smaller washers for these two.
- the last issue which I can deal with but should not be there for the cost of this item is that when the door is closed and locked it is not tight against the latch and moves back and forth about an 1/8 of an inch
Overall 3 out of 5 stars, a good product that can be made much better with a little more thought and attention to detail
Adventure. You can tweak the peice the latch catches and tighten it up. Plus the lock arm may need a liittle tweak put to it. Ive got mine where you acually can feel it hitting. Before you lock it.stays nice and tight.
any updates or news on after market locking fuel cap for the 6.7? Also the DEF cap as well?
Did you read the comments about the cap?

5.0 out of 5 starsWorks Great On 2017 F350

I've used Stant fuel caps for years and this cap works perfectly on my 2017 Ford F350 dually Crew Cab. Tip: you do NOT remove the cap with the key. You turn the key (just a little), then twist the cap to remove it. If you try to remove the cap with the key alone, it probably will break after a while. These caps have always served me well, and this one seems to follow that trend. Very satisfied.
There is no update on the DEF locking cap. Still not one available.

Why aren't all of the locking DEF cap manufacturers capitalizing on massive revenue with this simple, yet sorely needed item?
Maybe it's time to find one, and have a South Korean manufacturer produce one-million with defensive improvements while honoring patent laws.
Sadly, those $250 aftermarket thin alloy combo diesel and DEF kits have a very thin and weak three-finger composite retention system that is easily defeated.
I bought a <$10 OE-style black locking 2018 Fx4 diesel cap that accepts the key both ways, and allows
locking and key removal with cap off for quick locked spin-on without wad of keys inserted.
You can leave the key wad in if you're worried about leaving the cap behind.
