not exactly true, however this is the case about 90% of the time. i have seen more then one set leak when cold and seal when hot. kinda makes you wonder sometimes.
Well, I've seen that too. Heat can expand stuff and help it seal too...
Drove it hard and pulled it directly intop my shop. We had it plugged in and reading in about 3 minutes. No time to cool down. The hot start problem was happening 10-15 minutess after turning it off. So we were in the window.
Now here is the weird part. Ever since giving it the 30% command it has started every time. I've drove it just like I usually do, started at least 10 times today after that. No hesitation.

3 months of dependable starts hot and cold. Then one day, Gotcha! Hot no-start. Let it cool for about an hour and fired right off. Got it back to my shop and we rolled the dice on the IPR. No luck. While at the dealer buying a new IPR one of the Powerstroke mechanics gave me the word on the standpipe plugs. At $20 each I figured what the h__ and bought a pair. Good thing 'cause it was not the IPR. Can anyone see where this is going? Yes, torn "O" ring on the right side plug. About 5 hours of labor and $40 of upgraded plugs and we are fixed.
Moral of the story; buy a Chevy, no sorry, replace the plugs with the upgrade they will probably fail sooner or later.
