Hi all I have an 2005 F250 6.0l, 160,000miles I just rebuilt the engine had a #8 cyl problem bored all cyl .040 new pistons same crank std, cam checked ok, put the truck back together arp studs egr delete, 4in exhaust.
The truck ran like it was missing took it to dealer they said pcm was bad so we replaced it they pinned the wiring harness all checked out good checked all sensors all good, when the engine is cold it misses real bad aropund 1800 to 2000 rpm as soon as all the gauges come up to temp range it will run fine untill you hit 3000 rpm then it misses and cuts out untill you drop below 3000 rpm, they got detroit eng involved and said there were 3 teeth .015 thousands short on the crank tone ring that is causing the problem. I have over 8000.00 in repairs and shop time in this truck and now they want 2400.00 for a new crank. The ficm is okay 48 volt test done, I am at my wits end anyone have any ideas.
How is the fuel pressure? Are you using all OEM filters for oil and fuel including OEM oil filter cap? Also do you have gauges like a scangauge II to help these guys diagnose your problem?
