Hello evryone,
Finally deleted the egr cooler, also while at it replaced the oil cooler, left the egr valve in the valley, new intake gaskets and o-rings, etc. But after 15 min of driving, an engine code shows up on the dash. I read there is no "fooling the computer with .5volts to egr valve" there are other sensors comunicating and it must be tunned in order to clear the code.
I would prefer not to add any tunes to my truck, some monitors (Bully, Hypertech, EDGE) claim to provide engine data and Clear Codes, Any suggestions.
This is my daily vehicle, does it hurt the engine to drive it for a few days till i resolve the issue?
Thanks in advanced
Nelson
You won't be able to turn the light out without a tuner. Simply clearing the code won't do it as it will immediately return. I'm sure you can get a tune writer to write you a "stock" PCM tune to turn off the CEL.
