It's manual... trusting my memory it's a 5 speed. The decal on the valve cover says 7.3 and it looks like the other one I have in a 94 F450. The F450 is the one that needs an engine. the F450 consumes 5 quarts of oil over a 10 hour day.
well when i clicked on the pic there was one more interior shot and it showed a 5 speed. but what i was getting at was i didnt think a 5 speed or 7.3 diesel was offered in that body style?
I was just confused, but looks like a really sweet buy, i would guess it to be a cab and chassis too.

Rob, You're right, it wasn't. 7.3 and ZF started in 87, or 88, not exactly sure... An older cab, 85 should be a 6.9 and T-19 4 speed. The shift boot isn't right for a ZF, but I don't know what a T-19 shift boot looks like, so maybe it fits the cab and was adapted to the tranny.
So something isn't quite right... its either an older body on a newer chassis, or someone did a drivetrain swap. From the looks of the back end of the bed, I'd guess it was used for towing, otherwise I don't know why the bed would be angled like that. Is there a hitch in the bed too? Gooseneck or 5th wheel ?
factory would have been a 6.9l with either the c6 auto or the 4 spd manual.
if she sports a 7.3l and a 5 spd manual,it's upgraded in both regards imho.
this means however that 70k miles is of course very unlikely as the idi has a life expectancy of approx 300k miles between rebuilds.so the truck likely has high miles.
it's a long wheelbased cab n chassis 4wd.
the end results with how she sits is extremely desirable for a work truck.a real money maker.whatever someones willing to give you for it,it most likely won't be near enough, as it will most likely make far, far, far more than it could ever be sold for.
if you haven't bought it yet and have a use for it,don't even think twice.grab it and put her to work.
edit,oh.you already bought it for parts lol! must of got a great deal.well your f-super duty (450) isn't a 4wd.so depending,it may be time to swap plans as to which gets parted.

It's a T-19 not a ZF. I curse the ZF but only because I have several of them.
I'm not discouraged. It runs great and if nothing else I'll swap the packer over from my F450 and put it in service as a trash truck... less the stacks of course.
This is the super duty in it's current configuration:
That's a 6 cubic yard body on there now. That body is going on the newly acquired F350 and I'll move the tipper to the other side to save so many trips around the truck. After an engine overhaul and a good going over the F450 getting a 10 cubic yard body like this:
Anybody coming south with an empty trailer?? The body is currently in Woonsocket Rhode Island
