It is said that a 460 will pass anything but a gas station. There is a lot of truth in that. Most get 10 MPG, whether running light or pulling a huge trailer. But, the torque is hard to beat as it will get the truck moving in a way nothing else will.

A 351W won't approach the torque of a 460, but is a lot easier to live with at the pump. You just have to take your pick - go fast and spend money all the time, or go quickly and save a bit. I'm thinking a 400 might be the sweet spot.

460 seems kinda cool. its got a huge woe factor haha. i have a honda for a daily driver so tge gas mileage wouldnt be an issue at all. whays involed in putting the 460 in a 2wd?

Do a search on this forum 'cause I haven't done that, but others have. One thing I'm pretty sure of is you'll need a remote oil filter due to the filter hitting the frame. Another is that you have to find a 250 or 350 with the 460 and get the perches - and I think they'll fit the 150 frame, but again I'm not sure.

So if i got a 429/460 from a lincoln id have to swtich my oil pan? the oil filter kit and the mounts arent a problem. should i buy a rad support from a 80s f250 that came with a 460? because ill be buying a new one anyway

Yes, it is my understand you need a pan for a pickup. And, the V8 radiator support is different than that of the six, as is the radiator, so get both.
