Latch bott

Need to locate the latch bolt that's attached to the radiator support in my 72 F100, inorder to secure my latch of course!. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!!!!

You trying to determine what kind of bolt to use? Most typically they are 3/8"-16 thread.

Ahh, the nut part.

I'm going to have to go look at my truck to understand on how that thing is held in there. Picture is kinda hard to see.

The pic is poor and I don't see anything in the truck parts catalog that's hood latch related that attaches directly to the radiator support.

The upper grille panel has a rectangular opening. The hood latch plate (1969/72 F100/350: C9TZ-16900-A) attaches to it with (4) 57040-S36 .. Screw & Washer ~ 5/16" -18 x 1 1/16" long.

There are 18 of these plates available NOS.

I'm thinking that is the front face of core support, where the latch bar bolts to. It's a threaded insert, but I don't recall how it's held in?

Looks like it slips in from the front and the two round clips or bowed out looking thing-gies hold on to the radiator support! Located on the left and right to keep it from falling in!

those are a pain to find , i broke one ended up welding a nut in place .
