Make sure you get a nut to match the shoulder bolt. Many of the fasterners on these trucks were UNF (aka fine thread) NOT the standard UNC (aka course thread) we use today. MidFifty has a repair kit. Search Results - Mid Fifty F-100 Parts

$13.95. I bought it for my 54 hood hinges. It works.
On the same side someone had welded a nut in place for the other bolt hole... Not me. This was a replacement hood I bought back in 1998. That nut is a course thread nut. So I can't use the correct hood hinge bolt. Maybe I should see if I can get a chisel in there and knock it out.
