Hood mount

Is it an special kind of bolt whits is used to bolt the hinges to the hood, and have there been welded nuts indside the hood

Check out the instructions from Mid Fifty for replacement and repair.
Instructions - Mid Fifty F-100 Parts
They have the special shoulder bolts for the hinges as well as the spring washers.
The captive nuts are also a necessity,

Make sure you get a nut to match the shoulder bolt. Many of the fasterners on these trucks were UNF (aka fine thread) NOT the standard UNC (aka course thread) we use today. MidFifty has a repair kit. Search Results - Mid Fifty F-100 Parts

On the same side someone had welded a nut in place for the other bolt hole... Not me. This was a replacement hood I bought back in 1998. That nut is a course thread nut. So I can't use the correct hood hinge bolt. Maybe I should see if I can get a chisel in there and knock it out.
