2001 Expedition Won't Start

Yesterday my wife was driving the truck and went to the store and parked it. When she came back out it would not start. She tried to get it jumped and it would still not start. I went to the store and jumped the truck with a car and gave it a little gas and the truck was able to start. Drove it home and parked it.

Few minutes later I tried to restart it again and it would not start- does not attempt to turn over. Turn the key and all lights, radio, and everything electrial turns off. Charged the battery last night and took it to the auto store and their check said it is fine.

I was able to get the truck to start twice but it will not start consistantly. Right now it is in a will not start place. When I turn the key and the lights turn off there has been a clicking noise on the driver side floor panel.

If i disconnect the positive battery cable and don't try to start it, the lights, radio, power locks,... will work. Once I turn the key to start it everything turns off and will not work unless I pull the positive cable on the battery.

Has anything had this happen before? Can anyone offer any advice?

Thanks

Yes, both terminals have been cleaned. What I noticed tonight was when putting the positive cable on the battery the engine light would turn on and off. We started flexing it and thought this is where the problem was.

Put a new terminal post on the cable and tried to start it again and all the lights on everything turned off again. Flexed the positive cable V where the two cables connect and the lights came back on.

Decided to call it a night today with the lights still working with the ignition key out and when pushing the button to lock the doors, all the lights turned off on everything again. Sounds like a short but I'm not sure where to look.

If flexing the cable will cause the lights to go on or off consistently, then you need to replace the cable due to an internal break.

Every light related item on the truck- everything electricial. Cabin lights, radio display, engine bay light bulb,... It like the battery was unplugged even though it is still connected.

This is the battery cable assembly that goes from + and - terminal and is plugged into different spots in the enogine bay. I need to get this replaced? Just to verify.

With the battery cables plugged back on and clicking on the door lock button on the truck door everything electrial on the truck turns off again. That will need power which get power from that battery cable which has the internal crack.

Thanks for the help!!
