Hi, i've searched and tried, but I can't seem to find a list of the correct bolts with dimensions for a water pump R&R.
I bought a '76 F150 off a guy who said it had trouble with the cooling system. I get the thing home and it's got an aluminum pump on it. looks wrong and correct hole placement. I cleaned the timing cover and read the casting number. Looks like the cover is off a '79 Truck 302. So, the bolts are in cruddy shape, and if someone installed the wrong pump--they could well have used incorrect hardware.
I got an iron pump and a stud kit from O'relly--but they did not have the rest of the bolts as a kit.
I plan on picking up the bolts at Lowes, but I was hoping to verify lengths required. Everything I pulled off looks like 5/16 diam...
The new pump I bought has 8 holes that pass all the way though to the timing/engine cover.
So, if anyone could point me to a resource for this info, I would highly appreciate it!
I will be using an alternator bracket and PS pump bracket on this water pump as well.
AMK products sells correct hardware kits. That's dang good way of making sure you have the correct fasteners. The kit number for an SBF water pump is F-306.
