Thanks .I got the system flushed and the radiator out today. I'm off to work in the am and should have my new radiator when I get home. Next I need to drain the block and replace the thermostat. I hope to install my coolant filter this weekend too. Thanks for your help. I made a new post about freeze plugs since I have one leaking.
Well I got my Radiator and I'm sending it back. This thing is warped and the fan shroud doesn't fit. I can oblong the holes on the shroud but the Radiator is not built straight. I hope they give me my money back. I'll let you know.
Honestly, mine has the same problem. I oblonged the mounting holes on the shroud and even swapped the hardware to get a bit more play, but you can still see that the shroud isn't parallel to the radiator. The only issue I can imagine it causing, however, is the fan shroud rubbing against the lower rad hose. Other than that, it's all cosmetic.
I'm having a terrible time getting my truck back on the road. Some here have had good luck with Spectra Aluminum Radiators so I ordered one through Pep Boys last Monday and was told two days to get it. It took five and when I went to pick it up it was brass and the box was beat up and not one bit of packing material around it. I was going to take it because I need my truck but it had bent fins and all scratched up.I'm going to take my old radiator in to see if it can be repaired. It's been three weeks so far.
