I have a 00 Expedition EB 5.4 4x4 that does not seem to like when its cold out. OK let me start by saying NONE of this happens when above 45* out.
In the mornings when I start the truck it will do all its normal stuff (high idle of 1,100-1,200 for a few seconds) and then idle fine (7-800 rpm) for about a minute, then it starts idling real rough, between 400-800 rpm and will stall out. Has had codes of lean on bank 1&2 BUT not when above 45* All vac lines are good, already been down that road. After it has its fit and warms up it runs great. Could it be the IAC? If so why only when the temps outside are below 45*?
It really sucks not being able to start it and go back inside while the truck warms up on these cold mornings.
Sorry for the book...
Problems with the IAC valve will not give you the lean codes. The EGR valve could be coming into play by not closing as the engine warms up. This can give you the lean codes and cause stalling.
