Is there any reason a leveling coil spacer kit can't be used in conjunction with a pro comp or fab tech 6" lift kit?
I guess you could, but it would be safer to call pro-comp and ask for a taller spring in the same diameter. I'm sure they can get one from another truck and get you an extra inch or 2 if that's what you're dead set on.
You don't want to get new "s-code" springs again from Ford,
you'd want F250/F350 springs from Ford, or an alternative.
But, yes, they would give a bit of a lift and hopefully change the
ride in a positive way. Another alternative is a 2" coil spring spacer
which gives you more height, but the same bouncy-ness from the spring.
How much lift would depend on how much sag your current springs have.
Misky,
Is there some kind of either upgraded or heavier duty or taller coil spring that you would recommend could be used to add any lift to a stock 2wd 7.3l Ex? As well as using possibly in conjunction with a coil spacer??
So far there isn't a real solution - other than to go with the 4" or 6" lift or converting to a 4 wheel drive suspension swap. The 2" coil spacer messes up the ball joint's ability to properly articulate and I've abandoned that approach (it was posted in another thread by another member). The super-duty 2wd front coil is the same "size" - but it's higher spring rate SHOULD give a slight increase in height (since the SD has the same front end geometry it SHOULD work properly with the ball joints). I've got other goals in my life right now and the 2wd works for what I need (today)..
