I have the stock intake and I am going to leave it that way. No need to fix it if it isn't broken. My question is about air delivery to the intake. With the way ford has it set up there doesn't seem to be much room for air to get it, even with the zoodad mod. I was wondering if anybody had an idea of how to possibly incorporate a ram air style piece into the stock setup? Like possibly adding some sort of cone to scoop and direct more air in?

That is what the turbo does, it compresses the incoming air to increase the air volume entering the combustion chamber.
I understand all that. What I am saying is getting more air to the filter. I understand how intake works and turbo and all that. I refuse to believe that more air isn't a good thing, which is why people use the zoodad mod. I'm not saying change the intake either. I'm saying improve the intake to get more air to the filter.

Hook up another fan to push air into the
stock air filter inlet? Just make sure it does
not restrict the flow from baseline.
I'm thinking more of extending the intake tube further out so more air is forced into the filter. Basically a cheap mans ram air. As of rights now its just sucking in air and not forcing air in, and since forced induction is ALWAYS better, it seems to reason that if I can extend it out and catch the air before it becomes turbulent from the grill, it should in fact help. I'm not saying I'm going to maximize my horse power potential or anything crazy like that. I'm thinking about just kind of rigging something up like a funnel that is painted black and sits against the back side of my grill. If I can do it for like 10 bucks I don't see the point in not doing it.
no need for it. that engine can suck more air thyen it will ever need. wait till you see a few runaway powerstrokes. that will change a persons view of air volume requirements
the question on a diesel is never more air. its always how do i get more fuel?

Everyone that thinks about changing to an aftermarket intake should read these statements.
