Camshaft Synchronizer
Chilton once again has been a vague let-down.
Main questions;
-Is top dead center on the #1 cylinder necessary?
-if so, is it better to use a "piston stop" or the or the spring style indicator (like what is carried at Advance Auto Parts.
-what the HECK is this 60° alignment business, please tell me it's not needed... very confused on this one.
-more importantly... where in the name of god is the sensor located on the 4.0 OHV engine? the shop i called said to remove the intake plenum and that its WAY back on the block. After sifting through Chiltons ramblings I was lead to believe it may be under the power-steering/AC compressor.
