Admittedly David is one of the real "good guys" in this business, but he doesn't walk on water, and I suspect he would be somewhat embarrassed to be pictured here as such.
I hate to be intolerant with newbees, but......
Mr. Ring, knowing David Lott, and even spending a lot of money with him, does not make an expert of anyone. By touting as knowledge that of which you obviously know very little, you have already shown me what I wish to know about your character and credibility.
Most of the clueless sit back and read, listen, and learn. Not expound or pontificate.
You seem to be an exception.
A majority of us here don't, and won't, accept that well.
I "love" David... He has been around since the begining of time... He is a great guy. Good tuner, and knows as much about the 7.3 as anyone in the industry, bar maybe the guys that built it, and Swamps...

Who the heck said anyone was an expert of anything?
Who the hell said anyone was an expert of anything? Why do you see what you want to see, give meaning to things not even there? Why'd you even butt in to begin with, just to try and put me down with senile falsity? You must think highly of yourself. I don't.
Get over it.
Carry on my friend, I'd still buy you a large glass of milk. Chocolate if your nice.
And btw Springer, it was you who said that ANY transmission shop would know this and that about that mechanical diode, right? It must have been yourself who called them and spoke with them about my tranny then, right? Most ridiculous sentiment to knowledge I've ever seen. Christ Almighty Above, the know it alls just keep coming from the woodwork here.
I didn't just blow that out of my azz for no apparent reason, the guy said that to me. Whether you care to believe or accept that "well" or not at all is up to you but don't go saying things that you know not of.
Huh?
I do believe about everyone that has ever held a wrench knows about the Mech diode in the early 2001 4R100... Not breaking much ground here.

I'm sorry, but I have lost all respect for you at this point. And I hate that, I try to be open minded and fair to all.

About the "non-mechanical diode"? Ever hear of a one-way clutch or bearing? That's what a mechanical diode is. And if your trans is still working it likely still has them, just an updated version.

That's too bad, you're one of the ones I do have respect for. I'll be damned if I'll be cornered and attacked and for no reason. That might be for the other noobs but not for me. I've been a member of dozens of forums for over a decade from professional Ironmen to professional cycling to marathons to music to computers to contractors to diy to hvac to now trucks. It's always the same. There are a few who like to try and put others down and I don't play that game very well.

The diesel specific shop knew about it, the regular tranny shop hadn't a clue when I asked.
