Damn Trey you are having some bad luck. How about getting a extra degaus bottle cap and installing a pressure gauge on it to see if its holding pressure.
Definitely going to get a new cap. Gonna talk to the dealer who did the service and see how they'll help. I had a stash of Distilled water and have that now. Only took a few gallons.
All they did was flush and fill.. didnt think they could mess that up...
Gonna see what they will do for me tomorrow. I will try for a refund so I can use my ELC. If not I will let them refill with Gold for free.
Took it back this morning. They filled it no questions asked and had it done by the time I got back from the parts counter with my new coolant cap. I read somewhere that there was an updated cap design at one point, and this one looks different so I believe it. Either way, feels good knowing its new, and a revised design.
Got it home and looked it over. Hose clamps look good, and.... Glad I caught this:
The belt is rubbing a groove in the hose! You better believe I fixed that right quick. There is a convenient valley on the alternator mount that looks suspiciously like its for a zip tie. So what did I do? Zip tie.
I may have said some loud swear words if that hose burst on the road. I will add it to my ever growing list of to-dos.
I think you ought to step up to a metal hose clamp. Nylon cable ties are not designed for extended use at that temperature. A standard screw-drive hose clamp fits perfectly in that location. Set it and forget it.
