I might add that it doesn't need to be super tight to where it's digging into the hose.

What assurance do you have that they got the water/coolant ratio correct? Sorry, I just never trust dealers, especially in cases like this.

I got one of those "Made in India" caps too. I don't know if it's better or not, I'd like to pressure test it. It's hard to thread on or off when it's hot, almost feels like it's cross-threaded, but it's not. I don't remember that happening with the original cap.

Its called trust. How do you know when you do it that YOU got it right? Because someone's post on the internet said so? If you cant trust anyone to do anything youre running backwards on a treadmill wearing rollerskates.

Well, an unknown amount of 50:50 coolant leaked out, then you put in "some" amount of distilled water and drove it back to the dealer. How do they know how much coolant and how much water to put in? I don't think it's an unreasonable question at all.

Oh, they didn't just blindly add coolant. They drained it first.

And this you actually watched them do?

Or did you just "trust" them?

I know, you gotta' trust SOMEONE!

But a dealer that's already made a mistake?

Sorry, I'm really not trying to just stir things up, I honestly have your best interests at heart.

Did they pull the block plugs, too? There's still a lot of coolant in there if they didn't.

Seems to me the simple approach would have been to TEST the ratio of the coolant/water that was left, then just add the appropriate amounts of each.

Trey,

You better shut her down, drain the oil, tranny, coolant, PS fluid and brake fluid...

Never know if they might be off a bit.

Could blow your motor up.

Or, you could get a six-dollar antifreeze tester and get a better idea.

Prestone AF1420 Professional Antifreeze / Coolant Tester : Amazon.com : Automotive

...but if you prefer the Drama Queen route, knock yourself out.

Has nothing to do with the proper coolant...

I just base my "rants" on 20 years of experance... Of 1.5 million miles of driving THIS PARTICULAR MOTOR without one coolant related failure...

Its coolant, water works just fine as well.

Throw a filter on it, and forget about it.
