Well....after doing some digging, resealing the t-stat housing 3 times, I finally just tore into it. Turned out to be the intake manifold gasket. I am surprised that it didn't blow before. 4 bolts were missing! Kinda makes me want to find the previous owner and smack him.
So after a new gasket, oil change and 4 new bolts... She is up and running. And much smoother with more power too. Must of had a pretty bad vacumm leak for awhile...but then again, my kid is the one that I have to keep reminding her.. how many miles ya got on it... when did you last have the oil changed. sheesh...kids.
Anyway...thanks for the tips guys. kept me looking until I was able to finally see where it was drooling from.
Good you got it fixed. I chased a leak down for 6-8 months till I finally found out it was the timing cover gasket.I was racking my brain till I finally had a guy doing some concrete work for my neighbor tell me how much he hated Broncos. I looked and laughed and told him my truck was in great shape other than a little coolant leak, that doing the intake set, H2O pump, Therm housing gasket, etc didn't change. He laughed and asked if I did the timing cover gasket and told me he was in charge of used car/truck repairs at a lot years ago and said he hated every time a Bronco was traded in because he "always" had to do the cover gaskets on the Broncos and it was a pita. He was right, and kind of a jacka**, but it fixed my leak! Plus, I found a place out here in Ca that rebuilt my vibration damper with a 3 yr warranty ..... -Kevin-
