Suggestions please, I have a coolant leak on the my 96 Bronco, 5.8 with 140k miles. The coolant is leaking around the crank shaft and down to the cross bars. I've tried Bars, replace the thremostat and gasket, the hose. I reflushed and tighted all the lower hoses. I checked the weep hole in the water pump, thats dry! Could the water pump gasket be leaking and I just can't see it or feel it. You have to rev the engine to get it to leak, a pump doesn't cause it. I'm stumped !
If it's not your water pump gasket it's probably the gasket between the timing chain cover and the block, that's where my leak was coming from. I would clean the front of the engine real good with some carb. cleaner then you may be able to see the leak.

Look to see if you have any coolant puddles on the top/sides of the cover. You may try to re-torque the bolts for the cover and the lower intake while your at it. Otherwise, let the games begin. Not too bad of a job really.
