I was looking up the tow ratings on the Ex's in Trailer Life for 2002 model year. It says for V10s, 10,500 lbs. for 4x2 with 4.30 gears, but 11,000 lbs. for 4x4 with 4.30 gears. Why the 500 lb. difference? 4x4 would be heavier than 4x2.
I am guessing it's the springs on 4x4 vs 4x2?
What do you all think?
Why am I asking? Just looking at travel trailers. We like this one with GVWR of 11,162 lbs.

Spring code is HA. Hitch is 12,500 lbs. with WD hitch.
Then, you are probably correct. I have to assume the only difference is the spring rating on rear axle, "A" vs. "G" springs. I think the axle is the same, and the brakes should all be the same. Hitch is capable. My rear axle GAWR is 5,250 lb. What is yours?
The camper may have a gvwr of 11162 but dry weight is only 8370 lbs. I tow a Springdale 303 bhssr with my 2wd excursion for 2 years now and it pulls it and controls it great. It is similar in weight to the trailer you're looking at. The hitch weight is a little heavy but i think you will be ok if you load it right.
