First of all my SOTF doesn't work, bad solenoid, I have one on order. When I lock my hubs in my steering pops when I turn. When I'm driving straight everything is fine but when I turn right or left it feels like my lest tire catches and my steering pops. I've got under there and looked around and I don't see anything broken or catching. Any idea where I could start looking?
Ok I got under there and everything rotated freely and no extra slop in it. I did notice that on the driver side there is a rubber o-ring hanging off the axle. I don't know if that woul cause it but that's all I can see.

Was the steering wheel turned FULLEY RIGHT & LEFT When you Spun the Axel???
Did you spin the drivelines to??? see if they pop???/
The Seal thats Hanging there is the axel Tube seal pretty common for that seal to be worn out hanging there. And NO it wont cause your issues
When your in 4X4 and turn unless your on Ice or really slick surface the truck will really Grab the ground and Jump Around.
But it shouldnt have any Metalic sounding Pop Noises
But since it will jump around like that it can put strain on Everything in the front suspension so a Metalic sounding popping noise could come from anything up front really any worn parts
