smoke from vents

Hi, I just got this Bronco 2. It was supposed to need a fuel pump. Lucky for me it was just out of fuel. AWESOME!!! But I started it and drove it down the block and from the first time I started it it will smoke from the vents. White smoke a little puff and does it everytime I start it. I tried switching to a/c and it seems to go away. Do I have to think about a heater core? No apparent leaks. I read elseware there could be insulation near the blower motor? Where would I find or check it? Thanks

I did some online searching. It turns out leaves get in near the blower resistor and near the blower itself and cause this. My heater box was FULL of leaves and crap. Shop vac, problem solved!!
