66 speedo cable

Does any know where I can find a 1966 speedometer cable for a f-250 4x4. that goes into the transfer case?

Be aware that the DRIVEN speedometer gear at the end of the cable was only furnished by itself. Does not come with the cable.

C5TZ-17260-H .. Speedometer Cable ~ 90.60" long / Obsolete

Applications: 1965 F100/250 4WD / 1966 F250 4WD.

No Ford Dealer or obsolete parts vendor has any.

What's wrong with your cable? Inside the housing is a woven steel core that is supposed to be lubed every so often, but most people are unaware.

When the lube dries out, the core binds up inside the housing and snaps.

Autoparts stores sell a "universal" woven steel core kit. Cut it to length, coat with a fine film of graphite and install it in the housing.
