2000 F150 pickup overhead compass errors
My overhead compass reads " -40 ICE (flashes between the temp and the ICE word) and CAL". I took out the board and all connections are still intact. No loose solder joints and no burn marks either. The display is not dim either. If you hold down the button it will go to VAR then gives you number options of 1-15. If you hold it down longer it says CAL. If you hold it down longer yet you get a miniature t letter in the form of little dashes. Is my unit out of calibration or is it just bad?

Get the owners manual, look up the compass, and you will need to determine what zone you are in, (part of the country). That would be the 1-15 part. To Calibrate, once the zone is correct, make 5 circles, slowly, in an open parking lot. I think that is correct.
