overhead console display ?

When I press and hold the mode button, a number pops up and the letters VAR after it. I can press the mode button to cycle the numbers between 1 and 15. Does anyone know what this does? The manual says absolutely nothing about this.

Sounds like you may be in the location calibration section for the compass. The manual does have a section on the compass location setting. See if that seems consistent with what you're seeing.

Try this site for a copy of your owner's manual and look on page number 51 of the owner's manual (electronic page 50 of the PDF file).

Ok, thanks. Found it. I have to put it in zone 5 for me (arizona). That map is not in my manual.
