Whats everybody doing to change their oil pan? Taking out the motor or cutting the crossmember?

Also label everything! When my motor was out the oil pan, Up pipes and a new turbo was installed. Make sure you use the motorcraft pan sealant and let the sealant cure with the motor upside down for 24 hours otherwise the seal will never set properly causing more oil leaks. I know the aftermarket pans dont hold up as long as the OE Ford pans.

Take the engine out and flip it up-side down, the only way to do it right.

I helped do one a while back and the biggest thing is to have a strong enough engine stand. These things weigh s***load and the normal stands just won't cut it. IF they do hold you won't be able to flip the motor over to seal the pan correctly.
