It would be wise to focus on what cheezit is directing you towards (and I do understand the difficulty in finding electrical issues and identifying which coil is bad when you have an intermittant issue w/ an injector coil).

... and no, the FICM harness is different than the engine harness. The FICM has two connectors and cables going to each of the two injector banks and one connector and cable going to the PCM.

Please believe me when I say I'm trying focus on what EVeRYBODY Is suggesting....I just cant get away from the thought it is in the harness somewhere. Why? Because whenever it's been in the shop and wiggle tested, load tested, continuity checked blah blah blah, it runs good for a day or two. Maybe a weird coincidence but that's my reasoning.

How does this sound and will it cause engine damage?
Start with #1 injector, unplug it and drive for a day or two to test. Then carry on through the injectors until finally it stops stalling. If it stalls during the entire test we'll know its not a coil. Kind of like an old school injector cut out test looking for a miss.
I don't like driving with a dead hole but whatever. Will this cause damage?

once again its best to get it when its not running and see if you can make it run. its a far better method.
every time you move the harness you make it go away for a few days. this is common form of agravation. sorry and been there done that

The truck has been up at the dealer since yesterday morning...died again on me. Finally and fortunately it wouldn't fire back up at all for me or them. The only code again is the P2614. I asked them to try everything Cheezit suggested. A few hours later they called back to let me know it is not in the injector harness or injectors. They've ordered a new engine harness to get it coming as they are very confident it's in the engine harness. Any other ideas besides the harness before they put it in?

P2614 is common with excessive cranking, so it in itself is not all that helpful. Did the dealership say what tests they ran to rule out the FICM harness and the injectors? Please keep us posted as the dealership makes progress.

Load tested the harness, continuity checked the harness, unplugged each injector connector one at a time, as I asked them to do, as Cheezit asked me to do. Removed valve covers and all injector solenoids looked to be in good condition.
They're telling me I should have the truck back tomorrow night. Don't worry, you guys will be kept in the loop on this one. Expect to hear from me, good or bad.

sorry, it was worth a try. most harness faults will set either a p1000, or a p0603 code. most but not always

I'm going to dive into the biggest case of beer I can find tonight! Got the truck back at lunch time and it stalled on me again after work but fired right back up. WTF! PCM?
I'm out of ideas besides trading it in for a new one. The sales guy said they'd give me 12 grand for mine on a new trade. Not worth it but starting to get real tempting. I'm going to monitor this like a **** and see if I can pinpoint what or when it happens. To date it's always lower RPM....idle or slow driving speed. It has never(not once) died on me traveling on the highway or above 80 km/hr. that part I'm certain on. Not even a hickup. I'm sure I could drive from here to China with zero issues if i never had to stop or slow down. And it doesn't seem to matter if the engine is up to operating temperature or not.
Any other ideas to check?????

Been following this thread. A long-shot, and may be way off base, but is it possible your inertia switch is playing games? Just a thought. I don't have the knowledge yet to troubleshoot much on these 6.0's, but would be a normal check for me on a gasser.

No codes. What and where is the inertia switch? Can't get a refund when they haven't charged me a dime yet. Service department has treated me outstanding...so far.

Last thing I want to do is suggest something, and send you chasing a dead end. I was hoping one of the Guru's might confirm if this is a possible cause for the diesel.

I did a quick search, but all I got was https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...f-caution.html for the 2011-12

Never had to look for mine in the 04. Guess I should learn where it's at.
