Hey guys i know this has been posted about alot but im goig to have the turbo off soon and was curious should i sitch the wheel out to a borg anti surge wheel from RR. Or keep it stock? And how about install is it a pain?
Are you currently having any issues with surge? Since the WW moves a little less air, it lowers the probability of surge issues. If you are not having an issue, I wouldn't install it.
On the first video, I don't get it when just driving. But, i get it when towing.. I don't see the gauge jumping around. is that normal ?? or is that the waste gate dumping ?

The way the wastegate is designed, you shouldn't really ever hear it.
Surge is definitely more common when under a load.
as far as install goes, with the turbo off, easy as pie. It helps some with surge, and alot of people have said you lose some boost with it. I however have no facts on hand to prove this (Installed mine when my motor was on the way out). Btw sorry i never got back to you on your EBPV question. Ive lived in ohio most of my life and all we had were 7.3 farm trucks, and to my knowledge there are some specific parameters that have to be met for the ebpv to even work (out side air temps, at idle and in park or parking brake on only etc.). It does help warmup, but just start your truck earlier or use a block heater. We always deleted them, after having some issues with one that cost us some money, and never had any problems (all they do is leak oil). Im currently on my first 7.3 (after a 6.0 catastrophe), and the first thing i did was delete it. If you live where you spend from fall to spring in sub 20* temps it might be worth keeping, but im no expert so id let one of them offer there advice.
