painting silver trim
Im getting ready to paint the silver trim along the bottom of my truck before the snow and salt hit. I am going to use a black rihno line type of paint and I was just wondering if anyone knew of a good over the counter paint I can buy?

i sanded mine with 400 and used filler primer, then used Plasti-coat. i got mine at home depot, but im sure you can get it else where. the nice thing about it is if i dont like it, i can just peel it away. has held up very nicely for over 1 year.

I just painted a canopy/topper with a couple quarts of the Herculiner brand of bedliner coating that you apply with a roller. It's a pretty strong coating with bits of rubber suspended in it. I got it at O'reilly's. I sanded with 60 grit, primed with epoxy primer, and rolled on two coats of the Herculiner. Seems to be very sturdy, but I personally would hesitate to use it as a bedliner. It is also said that over time, it could get chalky, but Armorall should take care of that.
