When i first start up my truck it starts up fine, but if i shut it off for a minute or 2 then start it up again, it starts pretty bad, fires up at first crank but its a long crank...What could this be? The alternator goin bad?
No it would not be the alternator.
Do you have black smoke when it starts?
If so, try holding the throttle on the floor while cranking and see if it starts faster.

No theres no smoke at all, it starts fine in the 1st jump but when you drive for a while and shut it off for a minute or 2, and start it again the crank is slow but will turn eventually
I had a very similar problem except mine would not start on the second go around. Ive had plugs, cap, rotor, wires, fuel pump, etc all replaced. Turned out to be the starter. Got that switched out and have not had a problem since. The guys are right with it not starting when its warm. Dont know why that is though.
I'm going to say it's your starter. I had the same problem with my truck about a year ago. It wasn't sudden though, it was slowly getting worse. I think it occurs when it's hot because the starter gets warm and doesn't work well that way.
Electrical resistance rises with temperature. So if you have a starter on the fritz, then it gets hot/warm, the resistance is high enough that the current can't flow to normal starting levels, and you get a weak cranking. Things cool off, and your starter thats about to die anyway, seems ok to you. Really though, when you put a new one on, you'll be surprised how slow it was cranking even when you thought it was OK. Check connections first though..
If the starter is cranking the same, hot or cold, it's not the starter. I'd bet it's the ignition module getting hot and not allowing it to start when warm. Or its timing is to far advanced causing a hard crank...
